According to a photographer from National Geographic rain creates some of the best photo ops. Here are some photos of Italy in the rain.

A couple of days ago I came across an article in National Geographic proposing a rethink of the relationship between photography and weather. As photographing tourists and travelers most of us define good weather as sunshine and bad weather as rain, but things are not always that simple.

According to Taking Photos in the Rain we are missing a lot of great shots and photo ops, because we leave the camera at home when the rain is pouring. A better strategy which leads to different, intense tourist shots would be to make the rain visible. All it takes is a plastic carrier bag, a pocket full of patience and some of the other tips and tricks listed in the article mentioned above.
